PJ Svedja is an Atlanta based painter and works primarily with oils. She graduated with a Masters degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2010 and has been painting freelance ever since. She has been shown in numerous galleries across the Metro Atlanta area and currently teaches as well. “Teaching has kept me very flexible in subject matter as well and knowledge of different mediums,” she says. “The work I have in my store is a mixture of my personal work as well as commissions and classroom studies and examples. My personal work may need some explaining.”
PJ is very involved in animal activism and women’s rights. She spent her 20s involved in modeling and entertainment, both in front and behind the scenes. Her personal experiences brought ideas and opinions connecting the ways women and animals are similarly perceived in society. Her love for animals and the hardships faced by her gender have fueled the fire for her inspiration.
